Exeter University's 1st XV side compete in the BUCS Super Rugby league, where they have finished as regular season champions for twice (2017/18 and 2018/19) and league runners up three times (2016/17 , 2019/20 & 2021/22)
The team secured the BUCS National Championship for the first time since 2016 with victory over Durham in the final at Sixways last season.
The team is coached by the group of Director of Rugby Keith Fleming and Coach Rich Hodges, with assistance from Exeter Chiefs Senior Coach and Exeter University alumni Haydn Thomas, as well as Gareth Elliott.
Founded in 2016, BUCS Super Rugby provides opportunity for the best 10 university sides in the country to compete across 18 rounds of regular season action, before moving into a knockout competition that culminates with the flagship National Championship final.
